Summer Must Reads

Since it's summer, what better way to enjoy this lovely weather than with a fun summer read? Especially if these books involve a fun summer romance? Here I include some of my favorite books that I enjoyed reading during summer and I hope you will too!
I am a self-proclaimed book worm. I enjoy ending my day cozying up in bed and reading a good book. I like checking off my reading list during summer and winter break before heading back to school because once school starts I hardly have any time to read. I think my love for reading grew when I was about 10 years old. During elementary school, I remember my school held book fairs and I would always purchase at least one book. Judy Moody, Lizzie Mcguire, and American Girl books were my absolute favorite books during my childhood. My parents would take me to Borders and I was allowed to purchase one book. I would aim towards the Lizzie Mcguire books all the time. I recall telling myself that I would collect all the Lizzie Mcguire books. I made it my mission to make it happen, but sadly I stopped by the fifth book. As I got older, I became gravitated towards fantasy, dystopian, romance, contemporary, and paranormal genres. Today, I have quite a collection of books. However, I had to stop purchasing books due to not having any more room in my bedroom. I plan to purchase a large bookshelf soon, so once I have it I'll continue my never-ending collection! (I'll make that my new mission).

The Moon & More by Sarah Dessen
"At first glance, Maline seems to have it all. A great boyfriend, a close-knit family, an idyllic beach town to call home. But now, in the summer before college, Maline wonders if perfect is good enough. Then she meets Theo, an ambitious young New Yorker assisting on a documentary film about a reclusive local artist. He's sophisticated and exciting, and thinks Maline is destined for bigger things. Maline wants the moon and more, but can she balance where she comes from with where she's going? Sixteenth Summer by Michelle Dalton
"Anna is dreading another tourist-filled summer on Dune Island that follows the same routine: beach, ice cream, friends, repeat. That is, until she locks eyes with Will, the gorgeous and sweet guy visiting from New York. Soon her summer is filled with flirtatious fun as Anna falls head over heels in love. But with every perfect afternoon, sweet kiss, and walk on the beach, Anna can't ignore that the days are quickly growing shorter, and Will has to leave at the end of August. Anna's never felt anything like this before, but when forever isn't even a possibility, one summer doesn't feel worth the promise of her heart breaking... " - Books description

Cruel Summer by Alyson Noël
" Having recently discarded her dorky image-and the best friend that went with it-Colby Cavendish is looking forward to a long hot season of parties, beach BBQs, and, hopefully, more hookups with Levi Bonham, the hottest guy in school. But her world comes crashing down when her parents send her away to spend the summer in Greece with her crazy aunt Tally. Stranded on a boring island with no malls, no cell-phone reception, and an aunt who talks to her plants, Colby worries that her new friends have forgotten all about her. But when she meets Yannis, a cute Greek local, everything changes. She experiences something deeper and more intense than a summer fling, and it forces her to see herself, and the life she left behind, in a whole new way. " - Books description

My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick
" Life in Samantha Reed's home is neat and clean and orderly-precisely planned by her local politician mother. Next door, at the Garretts', things are loud, messy, and irresistible. And when gorgeous Jase Garrett climbs the trellis outside her bedroom and enters her life, she finds herself falling passionately in love with him and everything he brings with him. The only hitch is, she's got to hide it from her mother. Then something unthinkable happens, and Samantha is suddenly faced with an impossible decision. Which perfect family will save her? Or is it time she saves herself? " - Books description
